Email Migration Reminder and Clarification

Email Switch on June 19th, 2017

We’ve always aimed to provide our users with an email service that is not only straightforward and functional, but also customizable to their needs. With this in mind, we’ve made the decision to switch to a new email platform. It’s a feature-packed solution that boasts an easy-to-use interface and an impressive array of functionalities.
Rest assured, we are committed to making the transition as smooth as possible. Here is some information about the migration and new email service:

Resources:

*The email migration will only affect those with an email account purchased through us.

*There is no action needed and no change to your account if you do not have an email account with us.

The email forwarding server will be migrated and upgraded to the new platform as well, but no action is needed and we are not expecting any interruption of the email forwarding service.

There are some things that will be good to know, and some possible actions needed on your part if you do have an email account with us (see below), but mostly we are excited about the new email switch and the new features coming with it!

Here’s what you can expect from your new email experience:

  • A brand new look and feel: Easy-to-use, modern looking, and intuitive.
  • Mobile sync for calendar and address book: Mobile-desktop sync supported.
  • Conversation threads: Conversations can now be grouped together. The option to display conversations as lists or threads is available.
  • Cloud storage for files: A “Dropbox-esque” way to manage your files. Upload, share, password protect and set an expiry date for links.
  • RSS reader: Stay up-to-date by subscribing to RSS feeds.
  • A better HTML editor: Even more options to format your messages.
  • Identity management with HTML supported signatures: Manage multiple profiles and create HTML signatures for each.
  • Extensive address book fields: Keep your contacts organized with more fields.
  • A much faster experience: The new webmail is faster, more reliable and efficient than ever before.
  • Customizable inbox layout: Reorder headings (subject, recipient, date, etc.) to display your emails in whatever arrangement is most useful to you.
  • SSL!

Here is a look at the new Webmail Interface!

Possible needed actions on your part (if you have an email account with us):
  • Change email password if needed by June 19th (only if you received a previous email about needing to change password - see below)
  • Only ONE email signature will be migrated over. Take needed action accordingly (see below)
  • Take note of What's NOT being migrated over (see below)
  • If you are not using our DNS, you will need to switch to our DNS on the migration date, June 19th, 2017 (see below)

Need to change specific email passwords by June 19th, 2017
Several days ago you may have received an email from us about needing to change specific email address passwords by June 19th, 2017. Some email passwords cannot be migrated due to a password syncing issue between the old and new email platform databases. This is a reminder of that needed change. If you did not receive an email to your account email address about needing to change passwords, then you do not need to do anything.

IMPORTANT: MPORTANT: Passwords will automatically be reset if the credentials are not updated before June 19th. This is to ensure that we can migrate your mailboxes to the new email platform on the migration date.

Accessing the old email platform
From June 19th to June 30th, you can access the old email platform by clicking on the “Old Inbox” link within the login screen. This is a great way for you to reference any settings and data that were not migrated over, and make any needed adjustments on the new email platform.

IMPORTANT: The old email platform should ONLY be used as a reference tool. Please DO NOT perform any action on the old email platform such as creating folders, adjusting settings, etc. Any changes will NOT register on the new email platform and will therefore be lost with the deprecation of the old platform on June 30th.

What’s being migrated over to the new platform
We have been working diligently, bringing over what’s important in your email to the new platform. Here’s what’s being migrated over:

• Emails (including folders)
• Passwords
• Contacts
• Attachments
• Forwarding settings
• Whitelist (safe sender lists)
• Signature

Action required: Only one email signature will be migrated over. You will need to review and adjust your signatures in the new email platform. Email signature configuration instructions can be found in our comprehensive guide.

What’s NOT being migrated over to the new platform
Due to the complex and technical nature of email migrations, certain types of data will NOT be migrated over. Here’s what’s NOT being migrated over:

• Calendars
• Auto-responders
• Filters
• Blacklists
• Data storage (files stored on the mail server)

Action required: You will need to reconfigure your calendars, auto-responders, filters and blacklists in the new email platform. Calendar and auto-responder configuration instructions can be found within our comprehensive guide.

Change your DNS (Domain Name Servers) records
If you are currently using third-party DNS servers with our email, you will need to change your DNS on the specified migration date (June 19th, 8:00 pm PDT). If you are currently using our DNS servers, there’s no action required. To learn more about changing your DNS, please refer to this HelpDesk article: How to Change Domain Nameservers (DNS)
IMPORTANT: If you are not using our DNS on the migration date, you will not have access to the new email platform. All incoming mail will not be migrated over and will be lost.

What’s staying the same
The migration to the new platform will not affect current pricing/storage requirements. All pricing packages and storage will remain the same.

Refrain from making changes
If a password change is not needed, to ensure a smooth migration, we advise you to NOT make any changes to your passwords and email settings between June 14-19. Any changes made during this time will NOT be reflected on the new email platform and will result in duplication of work.
